About

Fiction Addiction was founded in February 2010 by myself - S. Bee, a semi -pro writer. That’s the writing name of me, Sharon Boothroyd.

The name of the writing circle was suggested by a group member.
I’m forty- something, married with one cat and we live in West Yorkshire.

My background is in professional web copywriting, composing and writing promotional and persuasive text for web site pages.

Me and my husband, Keith ran our own freelance professional web design service, working from home. Keith designed the site for Fiction Addiction and I wrote the web pages.
I was very proud when in 2011 and 2012, The Weekly News published two of my stories.
I’ve also had various letters published in both the national and local press, and had two poems published in Yours magazine.

My stories have been short-listed in flash fiction comps and twice I’ve had my work featured and published in the Writers’ forum magazine fiction workshop.
I’ve also has a small piece of drama performed at a local drama festival.

In October 2012, Keith and I launched a project called A quick read - free short stories to read on line and on an android app. Please visit our site: www.aquickread.net.
I wrote the press releases and appeals for this project and I also deal with admin.
